Ethiopian Heritage, Education and Information Service

Hawarya is a publication in the Ethiopian Diaspora. It has been serving the Ethiopian expatriate communities since 1995.

Hawarya News Paper is an "Amharic" monthly (Ethiopian official language) published in Toronto (Canada) for the last several years. It is the main source of information for its vast number of readers, both at home and abroad, and for major media groups.

Hawarya's main objectives include: to serve its readers as a conduit for current and reliable news about Ethiopia and the community; to educate the general public about Ethiopia's cultural heritage and its proud history; and to preserve this through continued research, education and documentation. It also serves as a bridge between the Ethiopian communities abroad and the respective countries they live in.

Hawarya has been cited as major and reliable source by renowned Western media such as The Globe & Mail, The New York Times, the Toronto Star, the Guardian, CBC, as well as many publications from within Ethiopia and abroad.
